Ulega sees good progress in the 525m Pangani bridge,50km Tanga-Pangani road projects

PANGANI: THE construction of the 525-metre Pangani Bridge and the 50-kilometre Tanga–Pangani road to tarmac level is progressing steadily as the government intensifies infrastructure development across the country.
Minister for Works Abdallah Ulega said the projects reflect the government’s commitment to expand and modernise transport infrastructure to support economic growth.
Ulega made the remarks while briefing members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Infrastructure after they toured and inspected the progress of the Pangani Bridge and the Tanga–Pangani road project in Tanga Region.
He said the projects are part of a broader national strategy to strengthen transport networks, ease the movement of people and goods, and stimulate economic activities in different parts of the country.

“Mr Chairperson, construction is taking place in many parts of the country. This shows the strength and pace of Tanzania’s development through the works sector under President Samia Suluhu Hassan,” he said.
Acting Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Infrastructure Prof Joyce Ndalichako commended the government for investing heavily in infrastructure to connect different parts of the country.
She said projects such as bridges, tarmac roads, and airports are crucial in unlocking economic opportunities, improving transport, and accelerating national development.
