Tanzania allocates 675m/- for the expansion of a hospital in Tabora

TABORA: THE Tanzanian government has allocated a total of 675m/- to implement the construction and expansion project of the Mailimoja Health Centre in Tabora Municipal Council, aimed at improving healthcare services for over 45,107 residents of Ipuli Ward in the municipality.

The Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Local Government (PMO-RALG), Prof Riziki Shemdoe, made the statement during his working visit to inspect the progress of the construction and expansion of Mailimoja Health Centre in the Tabora region, noting that so far, the progress of the ongoing construction is impressive and good.

He mentioned that some of the buildings have reached significant progress, including the OPD, IPD, Laundry, and X-ray facilities.

Additionally, the minister said that the other buildings, such as the Incinerator and Placenta Pit, have not yet started due to the projects assigned to other contractors who reportedly went to begin work in other regions.

Commenting on the matter, the minister instructed the Regional Commissioner to follow up to ensure all buildings are completed.

Moreover, the minister said that the government plans to ensure that all constructions are completed fast so that citizens can start receiving services.
