Public HR experts discuss improved service delivery in Dodoma

Participants will include HR heads from ministries, regional secretariats, local government authorities, independent departments, institutions, public entities, and government agencies

DODOMA: HEADS of Human Resources (HR) and Administration departments in the public service are set to convene in Dodoma from December 17 to 19, 2024, for a crucial meeting focused on improving service delivery and human capital development.

Acting Permanent Secretary in the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, Mr Xavier Daudi, announced the meeting, emphasising its importance in refining HR supervision and management within the public service.

“The meeting will provide an opportunity for HR leaders to exchange experiences and discuss best practices for managing human resources effectively. We will also review the use of newly introduced digital systems, such as eWatumishi, e-Uhamisho, e-Utendaji, e-Mrejesho and HR Assessment,” Daudi stated.

The meeting, themed “Supervision of Policy and Public Service Laws through Human Resources and Improved Digital Systems,” aims to address various HR-related challenges and align practices with national priorities.

Participants will include HR heads from ministries, regional secretariats, local government authorities, independent departments, institutions, public entities, and government agencies.

Daudi urged all participants to confirm their attendance by registering online before December 13, 2024.

Highlighting the significance of the meeting, the Director of Establishment in the ministry, Ms Felister Shuli, noted that HR and administration are at the core of public service operations.

“This meeting is a critical step in ensuring HR leaders are equipped to replicate capacitybuilding initiatives among their teams,” Ms Shuli said.

In addition to discussions on HR supervision, the meeting will cover topics such as salary budget preparations and the resolution of salary arrears.

Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Ibrahim Mahumi, Director of Human Capital Management, explained that the forum would provide practical solutions to challenges related to salaries and benefits.

This working meeting underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening human resource management and ensuring efficient service delivery across public institutions.
