PM off to Brazzaville for the AfDB’s Board of Governors meeting

DAR ES SALAAM; The Prime Minister, Mwigulu Nchemba, has flown out of the country to represent President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the 61st Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo.

The meeting, scheduled for May 26–27, 2026, will take place at the Kintele International Conference Centre in Brazzaville and is expected to serve as a key platform for strategic discussions on global development issues involving member countries, regional and international institutions.

The forum focuses on mobilising financial resources to support Africa’s development agenda while strengthening the continent’s capacity to respond to various global economic and financial challenges.

The meeting is expected to bring together about 3,000 participants, including African finance ministers, central bank governors, policymakers, business leaders, financial institutions, development partners, entrepreneurs and investors.

These Meetings are being held under the theme: “Mobilising Africa’s Development Financing at Scale in a Fragmented World.”  Several African Heads of State and Government are expected to attend, alongside ministers, Governors and other representatives from 81 member countries.
