Over 200 human resources professionals prioritise people-centred approach
MORE than 200 human resource professionals and business executives met for the third edition of the anticipated People Managers Conference 2023 (PMC23) to deliberate on the need for people-centric approach in their organisations to scale up their living standards.
Organised by Epvate and Fortune International Consulting (EFIC), the conference centred around the theme ‘Managing for Results with People At the Centre’ and received sponsorship from NMB Bank.
“Today, we engaged in discussions on ways organisations can achieve their results while still prioritising people,” said EFIC CEO Mr Peter Mapigano.
“We had diverse perspectives from the public sector, private institutions and industry leaders, fostering a rich and comprehensive dialogue.”
The conference featured esteemed keynote speakers who delivered thought-provoking sessions on a wide range of topics, including talent acquisition and retention, leadership development, employee well-being, diversity and inclusion, and the future of work.
Attendees were provided with invaluable insights and practical strategies to enhance their people management skills.
“PMC23 offered a unique opportunity to explore the critical role of people-centric approaches in achieving organisational success and driving meaningful impact,” said Mr Mapigano.
“We are proud to have created a platform that fostered knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation in the field of people management.”
Ms Getrude Sima, on behalf of the Country Director of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi graced the event.
Representing the ILO Programme Manager – Gender Equality Diversity and Inclusion in Tanzania, Ms Sima said they were pleased to see vibrant discussions and valuable insights that were shared at the conference.
“People are at the heart of the ILO. We were able to share our experience and perspective on the best practices on people management,” she said.
“It is encouraging to witness the commitment of HR professionals and organisations towards creating positive workplaces and driving meaningful impact,” Ms Sima explained.
Mr Mapigano said the third edition of PMC was a success seen in the active participation, engaging sessions and networking opportunities that fostered knowledge exchange and collaboration.
“We saw a record attendance of participants in the conference. We thank our partner NMB for being part of this success.
We had people from different backgrounds, experiences and industries. The presence of people from other fields brought fresh insights to the PMC,” Mr Mapigano said.
