MPs support Ndejembi as a perfect choice for Tanzania’s Vice Presidency post

DODOMA: MEMBERS of Parliament and government ministers have described Deogratius Ndejembi as a leader with the qualifications and experience required to serve as the Principal Assistant to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, while urging him to maintain the character and values he has demonstrated throughout his career.

They said Ndejembi’s key attributes include unquestionable loyalty, integrity, honesty, respect and dignity, qualities they described as essential for a leader holding one of the country’s highest government offices.

Speaking today, August 28, 2026, in Parliament in Dodoma, the leaders, including Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities, Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi, said Ndejembi had built a strong leadership foundation through the various responsibilities he has undertaken.

The MPs who spoke in support of Ndejembi included Geita MP Joseph Musukuma, Nzega Urban MP Hussein Bashe, Singida West MP Elibariki Emmanuel Kingu and Special Seats MP Agnesta Lambert Kaiza.

They described Ndejembi as hardworking, patriotic and humble, saying he had undergone leadership and ethical development within the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Tanzania’s ruling party, which they said had further prepared him for the position of Vice-President.

According to the MPs, Ndejembi has demonstrated his ability through the various responsibilities he has previously undertaken, showing that he is capable of handling greater national responsibilities.

They said his appointment as Vice-President would provide him with an opportunity to continue serving the nation from a higher leadership position and apply the experience he has gained in public service to strengthen the implementation of government responsibilities.

The MPs also urged their fellow legislators to support Ndejembi and vote in favour of his appointment during the parliamentary approval process, stressing the importance of unity in advancing national leadership and development.

They said development and success are not achieved by preventing others from progressing, but by supporting them, working together and giving them the opportunity to use their abilities in serving the nation.

The lawmakers further said supporting Ndejembi would demonstrate solidarity and constitute support for the leadership of President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan.

They also said his approval would send an important message that young people can be trusted with senior leadership positions and given the opportunity to use their abilities to serve and contribute to national development.
