DEBUTANTS Mashujaa produced a 2-0 win over Ihefu at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma on Saturday to claim the Premier League’s pilot seat for the first time.
Omary Kindamba opened the scoring for the hosts in the 18th minute before Adam finished the business in the second half to guarantee maximum points on home turf.
The Kigoma-based side has played all three opening matches of the campaign at their venue while cherishing two wins and one draw to bag seven points in the process.
In another league development, Mtibwa Sugar Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Aboubakar Swab said goalkeeper Mohamed Makaka is progressing well after fainting during the Premier League match against Dodoma Jiji on Friday.
The late kick-off game at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma had to be paused for about 10 minutes following his collapse midway into the encounter when his side was leading 1-0.
A standby ambulance had to be deployed to rush him to the hospital for further treatment after being subjected to the First Aid attention administered by doctors of the club.
However, through Mtibwa Sugar’s verified Instagram page, the CEO remarked that Makaka is responding well to medication.
“He is progressing well and his health is improving as he continues to receive medical care at Dodoma Regional Hospital,” Swab wrote.
The game ended in a 1-1 draw with each side walking away with a point in the bag as Dodoma Jiji responded in the 38th minute through Emanuel Martin who cancelled out Abdul Hilary’s opener.
