Kilimani Ward allocates 150m/- office premises

DODOMA: KILIMANI Ward in Dodoma has set aside 150m/- in its 2025/2026 budget for the construction of local government offices, aiming to bring essential public services closer to residents.

Kilimani Ward Councillor, Ms Neema Mwaluko, made the revelation during a media tour organised to showcase development projects implemented by the government between 2021 and 2025.

Ms Mwaluko said the ward has sufficient land for the planned office buildings, with some residents voluntarily donating plots to support the initiative.

“We have resolved to build offices in each subward. Our goal is to decentralise service provision so that residents no longer have to walk long distances to access the main ward office. Establishing sub-ward offices will make services more accessible and efficient. We are especially grateful to one well-wisher who has already donated land for this purpose,” she said.

She added that while land is available in all sub-wards, three areas in particular have been identified as especially suitable due to their size and location.

“We envision Kilimani Ward as a model of good governance. I commend the government and the Dodoma City Council for their continued support and strategic direction. With their guidance, we aim to make Kilimani a benchmark for other wards,” she emphasised.

Kilimani Ward Executive Officer, Mr Eliada Msuta, echoed her sentiments, noting that the new offices will significantly enhance service delivery and promote more effective local governance.

“The sixth-phase government has made notable improvements in service delivery mechanisms. We are committed to transparency, including timely sharing of revenue and expenditure reports. We also prioritise community participation in development planning and are working diligently to resolve local conflicts to maintain peace and stability,” Mr Msuta said.

According to the ward’s strategic development plan, the construction of sub-ward offices is seen as a key driver of improved service delivery and faster development not only for Kilimani, but for Dodoma City as a whole.
