GEITA : GEITA Gold Mining Limited (GGML) reinforces its commitment to innovation and community advancement by sponsoring the esteemed 6th Mining Technology Exhibition.
Held in Geita annually, the expo has been endowed with over TZS 150 million by GGML. Beyond spotlighting the latest technological marvels in mining, the event is a hub for Tanzanian businesses across sectors.
The exhibition, a collaborative effort between the Office of the Geita Regional Commissioner and Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TANTRADE), takes place at the External Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) in Geita.
Notably, this facility was brought to life through GGML’s comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Gilbert Mworia, GGML’s Senior Manager (Sustainability), shared insights into their involvement in the expo scheduled from 20th to 30th September 2023.
“Our support transcends monetary assistance, extending to on-ground preparations like tents, an emergency generator, and fuel provisions throughout the event,” remarked Mworia.
“Six years into this collaboration, GGML remains enthused to share mining equipment expertise, fostering stronger connections with local enterprises and miners.”
Mworia also highlighted GGML’s unwavering commitment to the Geita community.
“Beyond the exhibition, we’ve invested TZS 800 million in constructing the EPZA administration building. We’re gratified to see our EPZA initiative in Geita flourish and optimally serve its purpose,” he stated.
In accordance with its long-standing objective of sustainable growth, GGML ardently backs the government’s Vision 2025. This blueprint aspires for mining to make up a minimum of 10 percent of Tanzania’s GDP.
The grand opening of the 6th Geita Mining and Technology Exhibition will witness the esteemed presence of Hon. Dr. Dotto Biteko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, on 23rd September.
Capping off the event on 30th September 2023 will be H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Since its genesis in 2000, GGML has unwaveringly championed the well-being and development of its host community. From health and education to infrastructure and entrepreneurial projects, the company’s enduring endeavors continue to enrich the Geita community.
