College introduces a new curriculum aimed at enhancing entrepreneurship

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Institute of Social Work has introduced four new curricula in the 2025/2026 academic year in a move aimed to to increase the income base of the community and finding a way to do business and entrepreneurship, raising and developing young children and Psychology.
The instution is among the best colleges in various fields that help the community overcome challenges and strengthen good well-being by bringing solutions, especially psychological.
Speaking to the Daily News reporter, the Assistant Lecturer from the College of Social Welfare, Department of Labor, Asteria Mlambo said the new course focuses on resolving conflicts outside the court (Conflict Management and Alternative Dispute Resolution).
Adding She said the curriculum focuses on the knowledge and expertise to be able to use various methods to use alternative methods.
“The existing procedure, all cases, whether land, social, marriage, are resolved by the court due to the development and construction of people and the need, the court has seen that it is burdened and there is a long chain that consumes time and costs as well.
She added: “And often when they end the results through the court, the additions related to those people who live in many ways to resolve the court is one who wins who is right.
She notes that in this way they stay with both parties in mediation by adopting the rules and procedures set and the relationship ends there, but they will remain in a way that they will still continue to move forward and without any obstacles.
She continued to explain that in alternative dispute resolution, there is confidentiality for effective results with the mediator, where if it comes to a stage where the other party has failed in that but you will still be able to save the results with the winning party.
According to the official, the curriculum will be offered from Certificate to Degree levels.
The lecturer says that the government has recently established an arbitration institution called the Tanzania Institute of Arbitration, which issues certificates to identify these three powers outside the court or an alternative.

“At this time, it is established that there is no place where these people receive training, perhaps they hire lawyers or other people who have gained experience in the area of power resolution.
Another new curriculum is the Care and Development of Young Children under the Age of Three.
This curriculum has come after many challenges were seen in the care and development communities, where, technically, a child’s ability to be good and have great potential begins at an early age.
Mlambo says the expert is laying the foundations for how he can grow, where previously in this country, there was no such profession that helps children.
This Marketing and Entrepreneurship Development course is focused on teaching business, and since the whole world is now focused on business and entrepreneurship, it needs professionals.
“There are many people doing business and entrepreneurship, but these people understand how to do entrepreneurship as required, how will they find opportunities in the markets?
Assistant Lecturer Amina Abdallah said the fourth course is Counseling Psychology, which will prepare the student to gain knowledge and skills to solve or deal with various challenges that society faces.
“These challenges can be social, psychological, behavioral, including emotional. When he graduates, he can use the skills or knowledge to provide advice to the community based on social challenges, including issues of ethics, behavior, and research.
