Youth Foundation helps students develop technical skills for community development

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Youth Innovation Foundation has brought together students from various higher learning institutions in Dar es Salaam are the beneficiaries of a training aimed at generating and developing innovations that will help address challenges facing the community.

The students involved in the training are those engaged in  in Science and Technology studies.

Speaking today, February 28, 2026,  in Dar es Salaam during the event that convened the students, the Director of the Youth Innovation Foundation, Ms Deborah Wami, said the organization is focused on identifying and nurturing talent as well as new discoveries in the science and technology sector in order to empower the students academically and innovatively.

Deborah added that the students were gathered to enroll them in the foundation’s special programs, which will involve supervising and developing their projects and innovations so that they can expand and become more impactful.

 She further noted that their goal is to have a total of 500 young people benefiting from these programs.

On his part,Bundala Robert, a Quantity Surveyor from AQRB, said that young people will be further empowered in science and technology because today’s world demands such skills.

He emphasized the importance of keeping pace with technological changes, noting that the government is also aligning itself with these developments.

Meanwhile, a student who participated in the event, Masaka Julius, said that the innovations they are showcasing will significantly contribute to future development. He therefore urged the government to continue supporting them so that their projects can grow and achieve greater success.
