Tanzania seeks closer ties with Vietnam in AI, smart cities, cloud computing to bolster its digital capacity
HANOI: TANZANIA has sought closer cooperation with Vietnam in artificial intelligence (AI), smart cities, cloud computing and digital innovation as part of efforts to accelerate the country’s digital transformation.
The proposal was made by the Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Angellah Kairuki, during talks with Vietnam’s Minister of Science and Technology, Vu Hai Quan, in Hanoi.
In her speech, minister Kairuki stated that Tanzania is ready to collaborate with Vietnam in developing AI, supporting technology startups, expanding cloud computing services and building the capacity of ICT professionals.
Moreover, she called for stronger cooperation in technology-driven sectors, including digital trade, e-commerce, agricultural technology (agritech) and renewable energy.
According to the minister, the partnership would create new opportunities for trade, investment and technology transfer while supporting innovation and digital economic growth in both countries.
