Yanga crush Mashujaa

KIGOMA: YOUNG Africans (Yanga) delivered a ruthless performance, dismantling Mashujaa with a resounding 5-0 victory in a Mainland Premier League clash at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma yesterday.
This dominant display propelled Yanga to 55 points from 21 games, solidifying their position atop the league standings, five points clear of archrivals Simba SC, who hold two games in hand. Mashujaa, meanwhile, remain anchored in ninth place with 23 points from the same number of matches.
Young Africans were in control from the outset, playing at a high tempo, while Mashujaa struggled to push forward and defend against the relentless attack.
The visitors managed to hold off the hosts for the first 30 minutes, but Duke Abuya broke the deadlock in the 31st minute, when he was unmarked inside the box and firing a low shot past the Mashujaa goalkeeper.
The goal gave Young Africans the momentum they needed heading into the second half, where they added four more goals.
Prince Dube, Khalid Aucho and Clatous Chama who came on in the second half all contributed to the scoreline, with Chama securing a brace to cap off an emphatic performance.

In the 48th minute, Prince Dube doubled Young Africans’ lead with a brilliant diving header.
The goal came from a perfectly timed cross by Pacome Zouzoua, who skillfully dribbled past Mashujaa defenders on the left flank before delivering an inch-perfect ball into the box for Dube to finish.
Young Africans continued their relentless pressing, which eventually wore down Mashujaa and led to a series of fouls.
One of these fouls came from Mashujaa’s Yusuf Dunia in the 62nd minute, who fouled Khalid Aucho, setting up a well-executed free-kick that would result in Young Africans’ third goal.
The expertly taken free-kick from Zouzoua found Aucho unmarked, waiting alone in the box. With plenty of space, Aucho fired a powerful volley into the net, making it 3-0. After a third goal Young Africans made a tactical change that eventually paid off, bring in Clatous Chama to replace Stephen Aziz Ki.
Chama came on with great energy and quickly made an impact, scoring a brace before the full-time whistle. In the 74th minute, he added a fourth for Young Africans, converting a low shot from an assist by Max Nzengeli.
Chama wasn’t done yet. He completed his brace with a powerful header, finishing off a perfectly delivered short cross from Abuya.
The ball found the back of the net, making it 5-0 for Young Africans and securing Chama’s second goal of the match.
