UVCCM elevates Ng’wasi, Magufuli, Bulembo, Suluhu

DODOMA: THE National General Meeting of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Youth Wing—UVCCM—concluded successfully in Dodoma, marked by peaceful and orderly opinion polls to elect youth representatives for various Special Seats.

In the Tanzania Mainland category, 31 contestants battled for four Special Seats in the Parliament.

Announcing the results, CCM’s Central Committee Member and election supervisor, Mr. Mohamed Aboud Mohamed, said a total of 2,466 votes were cast, with 12 votes spoiled, resulting in 2,454 valid votes.

Leading the polls was Ng’wasi Kamani, who garnered 409 votes, followed by Jesca Magufuli with 391 votes.

Halima Abdallah Bulembo secured 320 votes, while Lulu Mwacha earned 316 votes to clinch the fourth slot.

In the Zanzibar category for Special Seats MPs representing youth, 1,652 votes were cast, of which 8 were spoiled, resulting in 1,644 valid votes.

The top vote-getters were Mwanaenzi Suluhu Hassan with 399 votes, Latifa Khamis Juakali with 357, Zainab Bdalalah Issa with 334, and Amina Ali Mzee, who collected 151 votes.

Meanwhile, in the House of Representatives category for Special Seats representing youth in Zanzibar, Salha Muhammed Mwinjuma emerged the winner with 255 votes, trailed by Hudhaima Mbarak Tahir with 235 votes.

Mr Aboud described the meeting as historic, noting the high level of competition, active participation of youth, and continued strengthening of democracy within the UVCCM and the broader party structure.
