TSL unveils innovative schemes expanding investments

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA Securities Limited reached a key milestone with the launch of the Imara Fund and KeshoTulivu Fund, boosting investment options and market participation.

Bank of Tanzania (BoT) Director of Financial Markets, Mr Emmanuel Akaro said Imara and KeshoTulivu provide structured opportunities for citizens to participate in the capital markets.

“Financial literacy is key to personal and national prosperity. Understanding saving, investing, and risk management empowers individuals and strengthens long-term economic growth for generations,” he said.

He made a special appeal to Tanzanians to embrace a culture of saving and investing responsibly, adding that by doing so they strengthen their financial resilience, deepen capital markets, and accelerate sustainable economic development.

On his part, the TSL Chief Executive Officer, George Shumbusho said the two funds are different in design, but united by one purpose to empower Tanzanians to grow, protect and plan their wealth with confidence.

“The Imara Fund is an open-ended scheme designed to offer high liquidity with a low-risk profile, making it ideal for investors seeking short-term capital growth through a diversified portfolio of debt instruments,” he stated.

He further noted that the Imara Fund is designed for investors who seek growth while staying liquid and who are willing to participate in market opportunities while benefiting from professional fund management and robust risk controls.

He said Kesho Tulivu Fund is an open-ended balanced fund designed to help Tanzanians build long-term wealth for retirement. For over 30 years, Tanzania Securities Limited has led Tanzania’s capital market development, managing over 100bn/- in assets and serving more than 400 fund management clients with a focus on discipline, integrity and performance.

Additionally, TSL oversees 50,486 CDS accounts and supports 19,489 Mobile Trading Platform clients, underscoring strong investor confidence across both traditional and digital investment channels.

Capital Markets Securities Authority (CMSA) representative Alfred Mkombo, praised Tanzania Securities Limited for its milestone, emphasising that regulated Collective Investment Schemes expand investment access while safeguarding investors, build market credibility, and support inclusive, sustainable economic growth.
