TRA United turn to Morocco after Ndayiragije exit

DAR ES SALAAM: TRA United have appointed Hemed Suleiman Ali, popularly known as ‘Morocco’, as their new head coach, handing him the responsibility of leading the team for the 2026/27 season Morocco’s appointment follows TRA United’s decision to part ways with their former head coach, Etienne Ndayiragije of Burundi, by mutual agreement.

Ndayiragije was dismissed after just five league matches, during which TRA United failed to register a win. The team drew three matches and lost two, scoring three goals and conceding five.

The results have left TRA United in 13th place in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League standings with three points.

Their early-season record shows five matches; draws against JKT Tanzania and Coastal Union, defeats to Azam FC and Dodoma Jiji, and a goalless draw against Mbeya City.

Morocco brings experience from coaching the Tanzania national team, Taifa Stars, as well as various clubs in Tanzania and Zanzibar.

He will now be tasked with improving the team’s results and making TRA United more competitive in their upcoming fixtures.

His first match in charge will be against Pamba, with the game scheduled to take place at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza.

TRA United will enter the match sitting 13th in the league standings, having collected three points from their opening five matches.
