TFB seeks EACLC premises for film production

DAR ES SALAAM: The Chief Executive Officer of the Tanzania Film Board, Dr Gervas Kasiga, met with the Director of the East African Commerce and Logistics Centre (EACLC), Cathy Wang Jumanne, in discussions aimed at opening new collaboration opportunities between the board and EACLC.
The collaboration is intended to benefit the film industry in Tanzania by leveraging opportunities at EACLC, a major commercial hub with over 2,000 shops, unique settings, and infrastructure that can support film production activities.

Speaking at the meeting, EACLC Director Cathy Wang Jumanne stated that the center is ready to allow filmmakers to use its premises as filming locations free of charge, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and environmental hygiene after production activities. She also invited stakeholders in the film and acting industries to visit the center to explore the available opportunities and use them to increase their revenue.
Meanwhile, Dr Kasiga praised the significant investment made in establishing and developing EACLC, noting that this initiative not only benefits businesses but also opens doors for other sectors, including the film industry, to utilize the existing infrastructure. He encouraged film industry stakeholders to visit the center and use its locations to enhance the value and creativity of their film projects.
