Tanzania welcomes Nigerian High Commissioner- designate, Rahmat Omobolanle

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has received copies of credentials from Nigeria’s High Commissioner-designate to Tanzania, Rahmat Mohammed Omobolanle, with the two sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
The meeting took place at the Ministry’s offices in Dar es Salaam, where Ambassador Kombo welcomed the Nigerian diplomat and wished her success in carrying out her diplomatic responsibilities in Tanzania.
He assured Omobolanle of the Government’s full cooperation during her tenure and stressed the importance of strengthening the historic and fraternal ties between Tanzania and Nigeria.

The two officials also discussed areas of mutual interest, particularly ways to expand economic cooperation between the two countries through trade and investment, education, transport, entertainment and the arts, among other development sectors.
Speaking after presenting copies of her credentials, Omobolanle commended the existing diplomatic relations and cooperation between Nigeria and Tanzania.
She pledged to work towards further strengthening the ties and taking bilateral relations to greater heights.
The High Commissioner-designate assured Ambassador Kombo of her readiness to work closely with the Tanzanian Government to promote and deepen existing relations, in line with Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives.
