Tanzania pushes for stronger business links between Africa and Indonesia

JAKARTA: TANZANIA has called for stronger business links between Africa and Indonesia, urging both sides to turn their historic friendship into tangible trade, investment and development opportunities.
Tanzania’s Ambassador to Indonesia and Dean of African Ambassadors, Macocha Tembele, made the call during the “An Evening with Africa” event organised by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) in Jakarta on October 26, 2026.
The event brought together African ambassadors and Indonesian business leaders to strengthen relations, expand business networks and promote economic cooperation between Indonesia and African countries.
Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Tembele said the solidarity established through the 1955 Bandung Conference should be advanced through stronger economic partnerships, with the concept of “Bandung 2.0” seeking to translate historical ties into mutually beneficial business and investment opportunities.
