Tanzania, Kyrgyzstan ink declaration to establish diplomatic ties

NEW YORK: TANZANIA and Kyrgyzstan have signed a joint declaration to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries for mutual benefits.

The declaration was signed between Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan on Friday in New York, USA.

Moreover, the diplomatic relations between the two countries will be guided by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (1961) and other international laws.
Speaking shortly after signing the declaration, Minister Kombo commended Kyrgyzstan for its decision to open an embassy in Addis Ababa, noting that it is a strategic move that will facilitate direct communication with African countries and strengthen cooperation with Tanzania through its Embassy in Ethiopia, where its Ambassador is also accredited.
