Tanzanian envoy Yakubu starts his diplomatic mission in France

PARIS: TANZANIA’S Ambassador to France, Saidi Othman Yakubu, has formally presented copies of his Letters of Credentials to the French government, marking the start of his diplomatic mission in the European nation.

The credential presentation ceremony was held at the Tanzanian Embassy in Paris, where Ambassador Yakubu received Mathieu Carmona, Deputy Director of Protocol at France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, who received  the documents on behalf of the government.

The presentation of copies of credentials is a key preliminary diplomatic step that allows an ambassador to begin executing official duties, including overseeing embassy operations, strengthening bilateral relations and advancing economic diplomacy between Tanzania and France.

In line with French diplomatic procedures, Ambassador Yakubu will continue with his responsibilities pending the formal presentation of his Letters of Credence to President Emmanuel Macron, which will complete his full accreditation as Tanzania’s representative in France.

Following the ceremony, both sides held discussions on enhancing cooperation between Tanzania and France across strategic sectors, signalling renewed momentum in bilateral ties.
