Tanzania impresses global tourism giants as they pledge to invest more in the country.

ALEXANDRIA: BILLIONAIRE and owner of one of the world’s largest companies in the tourism business Abercrombie and Kent, Manfred Lefebvre has praised the development of the tourism sector in Tanzania and promised to invest more in the country.
Manfred said this in a conversation today, May 8, 2026,with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism in Tanzania, Dr Hassan Abbasi, on the sidelines of the Sector Leaders’ Meeting held aboard the billionaire’s cruise ship which today continues its journey from Port Said to Alexandria.

“Tanzania is among the countries that I see progressing well in the tourism sector in Africa. I see the current leadership putting tourism very much at the forefront, especially under President Mama Samia,” said Manfred, who four years ago also attended the launch of the film “Tanzania: The Royal Tour,” in New York, USA.
Abercrombie and Kent has already invested in Tanzania, bringing in thousands of tourists, including those who arrive in the country through their cruise ships under their subsidiary Crystal Cruises, which frequently visit Zanzibar, Kilwa and Dar es Salaam.
For his part, Dr Abbasi assured the government of cooperation in all its future steps to increase the scope of its investment in Tanzania.
