Tanzania, Belarus explore new academic ties in researches, expert exchange and scholarships

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA and Belarus are exploring new academic ties that could open more opportunities for research collaboration, expert exchange and scholarships for Tanzanian students.

The development follows talks between Tanzania’s Minister for Education, Science and Technology Prof Adolf Mkenda and the leadership of Belarusian State University that aimed at establishing cooperation between the institution and higher learning institutions in Tanzania.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, under the proposed partnership, the two sides are expected to work together in exchanging experts, conducting joint research and creating more avenues for Tanzanian youth to access study opportunities in Belarus.

Belarusian State University is among internationally recognised universities that attract students from across the world, including China, Russia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Cameroon.
