Tanzania fast-tracks the implementation of IPC guidelines in its health facilities

MOROGORO: THE Tanzanian government, through the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (OWM-TAMISEMI), and the Global Health Security project implemented by CIHEB-Tanzania, has continued to strengthen and monitor the implementation of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) guidelines across health facilities at all levels nationwide.
This was stated in Morogoro by a Ministry of Health Coordinator, Joseph Hokororo, during a technical workshop focused on analyzing IPC data and improving indicators within the DHIS2 system.
Dr. Hokororo said the government continues to emphasize the proper use of data as a critical tool for improving the quality of healthcare services and ensuring safe environments for both patients and healthcare providers.
He added that the use of the DHIS2 system has improved real-time access to information, enhanced accountability among healthcare providers, and supported the monitoring of national health guideline implementation.
