Tanzania, Botswana affirm to maintain their longstanding historical ties

LONDON: THE Minister of State in the President’s Office (Special Duties), Palamagamba Kabudi, held talks with Botswana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Phenyo Butale, in London, United Kingdom, where the two leaders discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between their countries.
The discussions took place on the sidelines of a meeting of Foreign Ministers from member states of the Commonwealth of Nations held in London. The meeting brought together ministers from various member countries to deliberate on global issues and shared development agendas.
During their talks, the leaders agreed to maintain and strengthen the longstanding historical and diplomatic relations between Tanzania and Botswana. They also emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in several areas, including politics, economic development, social affairs, and education for the mutual benefit of both nations.

The two leaders further agreed to work together in addressing emerging challenges within the rapidly changing global environment. These challenges include technological advancements, economic transformations, and evolving political dynamics worldwide.
During the visit, Prof. Kabudi was accompanied by the Presidential Advisor on Diplomatic Affairs, Lazaro Nyalandu, Tanzania’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Mbelwa Kairuki, and the Director of the International Cooperation Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Noel Kaganda.
