Vice-President calls for better parenting

GEITA: VICE-PRESIDENT Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi has urged parents to raise children with strong moral values, patriotism and a spirit of service, citing the late Suzana Ngolo Magufuli as an example of how dedicated parenting can help shape future leaders and responsible citizens.

Speaking on behalf of President Samia Suluhu Hassan during the funeral of the late Suzana in Chato District, Geita Region on  Friday, Dr Nchimbi said parents should emulate her commitment to raising children who place national interests above personal interests and remain ready to serve the country in whatever capacities they are entrusted with.

He said President Samia had been deeply touched by the death of Mama Suzana and extended her condolences to the family, relatives, friends and all those affected by the loss.

Dr Nchimbi said the late Mama Suzana should be remembered as a model of good parenting, moral guidance and patriotism, noting that the best way to honour her memory was to emulate the values she instilled in her children.

“The best way to honour her memory is to emulate the good values she demonstrated in raising her children, parents should love their children, nurture them with good values and prepare them to serve society and the nation whenever called upon to do so,” Dr Nchimbi said.

According to Dr Nchimbi, the life of the late Mama Suzana demonstrated the critical role she played in raising the late President John Magufuli, whose contribution to public service and national development continues to be recognised by many Tanzanians.

Dr Nchimbi described the late President Magufuli as a patriotic leader who dedicated himself to defending national interests and serving the country, while also mentoring and nurturing future leaders.

He said acts of selflessness, sacrifice and service to others often leave a lasting legacy that benefits both families and future generations. Geita Regional Commissioner Martine Shigela said the government would continue to honour and preserve the legacy of both Mama Suzana and the late President Magufuli through recognition of the values they upheld during their lives.

He said their commitment to hard work, patriotism and service to society would continue to inspire present and future generations. Delivering the homily during the funeral mass, Geita Catholic Diocese Bishop Flavian Kassalla described the late Mama Suzana as a symbol of faithful family life and a parent who remained devoted to the wellbeing of her children.
