Tanzania, Belarus agree to establish Joint Trade and Economic Cooperation Commission

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA and Belarus have signed an agreement to establish a Joint Trade and Economic Cooperation Commission, marking a significant step towards deepening bilateral economic ties.

The agreement was signed in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday by the Minister of State in the President’s Office (Planning and Investment), Prof Kitila Mkumbo, and Belarus Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr Maxim Ryzhenkov.

According to information from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, the pact is aimed at strengthening economic cooperation by promoting trade and investment across key sectors, including industry, agriculture, technology and infrastructure, while laying a foundation for a stable, fair and mutually beneficial business environment.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, along with other senior officials from both sides.
