Stars upbeat ahead of Sudan return leg

DAR ES SALAAM: TAIFA Stars Head Coach, Bakari Shime, has expressed optimism on turning the table after their previous 1-0 loss against Sudan in the first leg of the CHAN qualifying game at Cheikha Ould Boïdiya Stadium in Mauritania.

Shime made the remarks upon the team’s arrival in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, after their training camp in Senegal as they prepare for the return leg scheduled for Sunday at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

“We have worked diligently, addressing the mistakes that led to our previous defeat. Now it’s our turn to seek revenge on home soil,” Shime said.

He hailed the players for commitment and eagerness to deliver positive results for their supporters. With entry to the match being free, the coach highlighted the importance of fans support.

“The presence of passionate fans can significantly boost the players’ morale. The fans hold the power to inspire us; we hope they will come”.
