Simba wary, Dodoma Jiji optimistic

DAR ES SALAAM: AS Simba issued warning ahead of their match with Dodoma Jiji today, the latter have expressed optimism and confidence in their team’s preparations for the tough challenge.

While Simba’s Assistant Coach, Selemani Matola issued a stern warning ahead of their highly anticipated match, Dodoma Jiji’s Mecky Maxime, expressed optimism and confidence in his team’s preparations for the tough challenge.

Speaking at a pre-match press briefing, Matola highlighted the strength and competitiveness of their upcoming opponents.

The fixture, originally scheduled earlier in the season, will take place at the KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam today.

The delay was caused by a tragic bus accident Dodoma Jiji got into when travelling by bus, returning after their match against Namungo in Lindi region on February 10th.

Speaking to the press, Matola underscored that Dodoma Jiji should not be underestimated, acknowledging the challenge they present. “It will not be an easy match, especially in the second round.

Dodoma Jiji are well-coached and theirs is a competitive team. Even in our first encounter, it wasn’t a straightforward victory,” he said.

On the other side, Dodoma Jiji’s Head Coach, Mecky Maxime, expressed optimism and confidence in his team’s preparations for the tough challenge.

“We know Simba are strong, but we are fully prepared to ensure we perform well in this match as all know that the league is tough and while we are pushing for the title, we are focused on securing a safer position in the standings,” Maxime said.

Looking at the head-to-head statistics between Simba and Dodoma Jiji; the margin of victory has generally been in Simba’s favour.

Out of the eight encounters between the two teams, Simba have secured seven victories, while Dodoma Jiji have won only once.

This strong showing by Simba have been reflected in the goals scored, with Simba netting a total of 19 goals across the matches, while Dodoma Jiji has scored just 4.

The most common score line for Simba against Dodoma Jiji have been a 1-0 victory, which occurred five times, but they have also recorded 2-0 wins on a couple of occasions and even managed 3-0 and 3-1 victories.

On average, Simba have won by a margin of around 2.29 goals per game while Dodoma Jiji scores 0.5 goals per game and loses by a margin of about 2 goals per game when playing against Simba.
