Simba CEO: Dutchman will bring fortune

SIMBA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imani Kajula said the team’s newly hired head of scout Mels Daalder is also a competent match analyst hence they will reap a fortune from him.

The Dutchman was introduced on Thursday through the club’s official Instagram page as they embark on a project to improve their technical bench ahead of the busy schedule next season.

“His arrival will help us a lot to improve our scouting section because he has enough experience of doing this job and the good thing is that he is also a good match analyst,” Kajula said.

Adding, he said the previous mistakes they were committing when recruiting new players will no longer be there because in the past, they were using agents to get new players.

“Using agents is not an efficient way to recruit players because they lack knowledge of fully understanding the potential of a player which is only found among scouts,” he said.

Kajula also disclosed that the Dutchman knows well Simba and he is much aware of Tanzania and African football in general saying that will help them a lot to get competitive players.

He also named FC Twente which parade in the Holland Premier League as one of the teams he worked in his capacity as a scout while insisting that to get such an expert is not an easy task.

Recently, Simba, through their Media and Communication Manager Ahmed Ally, vowed to reconstruct their team in order to make it competitive next term.

This comes after enduring unfruitful 2022/23 season which has seen them finishing without any trophy, hence it has forced them to upgrade their squad.

They are also setting up to represent the country in CAF Super League which has drawn eight teams from the continent and are eyeing to stamp success.

“We want to accomplish good signings so that we can be able to do well in the upcoming CAF Super League of which we are the first team from Tanzania to compete in the contest.

“The only way we can achieve that is by improving the existing squad through signing quality players and at the same time, releasing others not because they are not good players, but rather to give space for the new blood,” Ally said.

He also assured Simba family they should be prepared to be on top of the world next season because their team will be exceptional and well drilled to battle for any trophy that comes their way.

However, with two games to go before the Premier League season ends, the Msimbazi Street Reds are already on the training ground aiming to stamp success in both assignments.

They will host Polisi Tanzania on June 6th before winding up the action-packed campaign by hosting Coastal Union, both games to be staged in Dar es Salaam.

If they succeed to win both duels, they will end the season with 73 points from 30 games.
