Makonda launches patriotic campaigns for Tanzanian national teams

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA national teams Spokesperson, Haji Manara has unveiled a strategy spearheaded by Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Paul Makonda to strengthen public support, patriotism and unity behind Tanzania’s national teams.

Manara said the initiative aims to revive the culture of supporting national teams while creating a positive environment that motivates players and technical benches to achieve greater success in international competitions.

He noted that the Ministry, through the National Sports Council (NSC), is working to improve communication, expand fan-engagement campaigns and foster a sense of pride among Tanzanians regardless of age, religion, political affiliation or sporting preference.

According to Manara, the programme forms part of broader reforms aimed at improving the quality of sports, attracting more stakeholders and enhancing Tanzania’s profile on the global sporting stage. He urged Tanzanians to support the initiative by attending matches and actively participating in national team campaigns.
