He further emphasised that he is pacing the team’s preparation, opting not to rush into full 90-minute friendly matches due to some players still needing to attain optimal fitness levels.

“I believe Simba Day will offer a comprehensive view of our team’s style of play and serve as a valuable opportunity for new players to acclimatise to the electrifying atmosphere of a packed Benjamin Mkapa Stadium,” he highlighted.

Today, Simba will face Egypt’s El-Qanah in their inaugural official friendly at Old Suez Canal Stadium. El-Qanah competes in Egypt’s Second Division, the nation’s second-highest football league.

“I pledge to give my all to help Simba excel in both domestic and international competitions. Achieving this goal requires unwavering support from our fans, who I know have high expectations of me.

I’m determined to meet and exceed them,” Awesu added.
