Samia congratulates Chinese President Xi on PRC’s 75th Anniversary
DAR ES SALAAM: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has extended warm congratulations to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
In a message shared via social media platform X , President Samia reiterated Tanzania’s commitment to strengthening the enduring friendship between the two nations.
“My profound congratulations to His Excellency President Xi Jinping on the commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Tanzania remains committed to strengthening our all-weather friendship,” she wrote.
China commemorates its 75-year journey, which began on October 1, 1949, when Chairman Mao Zedong declared the establishment of the People’s Republic of China in Tiananmen Square, Beijing.
The founding of the PRC marked the end of a protracted civil war and centuries of imperial rule in China, laying the groundwork for its remarkable transformation into the world’s second-largest economy.

China and Tanzania share 60 years of bilateral diplomatic ties, having established formal relations soon after Tanzania’s independence.
The two nations are often referred to as “all-weather friends,” a testament to their longstanding support for each other.
This partnership is rooted in the deep bond forged by the founding fathers of both nations: Chairman Mao Zedong and Premier Zhou Enlai on the Chinese side, and President Julius Kambarage Nyerere and Abeid Amani Karume on the Tanzanian side.
Over the years, China has emerged as one of Tanzania’s largest trading partners and key investors, strengthening cooperation across various sectors through numerous agreements and partnerships.
