DAR ES SALAAM: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has signed into law seven bills, including the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation Bill, 2024, which was endorsed by Members of Parliament during the 18th meeting of the 12th Parliament.
According to the National Assembly Speaker’s report, delivered by Deputy Speaker Mussa Azzan Zungu yesterday in the House, the Head of State has approved all seven bills, which are now ready for implementation in accordance with the relevant procedures.
The bills signed into law include the Written Laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill (No. 3) of 2024, now known as the Written Laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act No. 3 of 2025. Similarly, the Written Laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill (No. 4) of 2024 has been signed into law and will now be referred to as the Written Laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act No. 4 of 2025.
President Samia has also signed the Environmental Management Amendment Bill (No. 5) of 2024, which is now known as the Environmental Management Amendment Act No. 5 of 2025. The president also signed the Investment and Special Economic Zones Bill (No. 6) of 2024, which is now the Special Economic Zones Act No. 6 of 2025.

Moreover, the Head of State signed the Supplementary Appropriation Bill for the Financial Year 2024/25 into law, making it the Supplementary Appropriation Act No. 7 of 2024/2025.
Another bill that was signed into law is the Labour Law Amendment Act No. 4 of 2024, which is now known as the Labour Law Amendment Act No. 4 of 2025.
The Deputy Speaker also confirmed that President Samia has signed the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation Bill, 2024, into law.
This new law expands the mandate of the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC).
It has been formulated to govern the corporation, which had previously lacked specific legislation to manage its operations since its establishment in 2007.
TBC was founded under the Order of the President through Government Notice No. 186 of 2007.
