Safe Space Experience workshop set to light up Dar es Salaam

DAR ES SALAAM: EDUCATIONAL fortune awaits the participants of The Safe Space Experience workshop to be held on April 18 in Dar es Salaam.

They will be equipped with doable practices on how they can reconnect with themselves in a gentle and non-judgmental environment.

It is an intimate art therapy space where people can slow down, express emotions they may not have words for, and feel seen without pressure.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam today, April 8, Mental Health Counsellor and Life Coach Ms Tasneem Al Farsy narrated that through guided activities, they focus on emotional release, self-awareness, and nervous system regulation.

“The workshop will include guided art therapy exercises using regular-sized canvases, reflective journaling prompts, and a complimentary 10-minutes consultation will be included.

“Participants will also engage in mindful conversations and emotional check-ins, allowing them to explore their inner world creatively and safely…no artistic skill is needed as this is purely about expression, not perfection,” she said.

On who is eligible to attend, she replied that the event is open to anyone who feels the need to pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.

“Whether someone is navigating stress, emotional overwhelm, or simply seeking a deeper connection within, they are welcome. It is especially beneficial for individuals who may find it difficult to express emotions verbally.

“Participants often leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more grounded. There is usually a sense of emotional release, clarity, and in some cases, a deeper understanding of their own feelings. Even in a short period, creating space for yourself can shift your internal state significantly.”

She continued: “Health is not just physical—it is deeply emotional and mental as well. Taking care of your inner world is just as important as taking care of your body.

“Permit yourself to slow down, feel your emotions, and seek safe spaces that support your well-being because healing does not always have to be loud or visible—it can be soft and intentional. Mental Health is Part of our Health Too.”

In her conclusion, she reiterated that The Safe Space Experience is more than just a workshop—it is a reminder that you do not have to carry everything alone.

“In a world that constantly demands productivity, this is an opportunity to simply be. Every detail of the experience has been designed to help participants feel safe, supported, and connected.
