REA Shines at Sabasaba 2026

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Rural Energy Agency (REA) was named the Best Government Institutions Exhibitor at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) 2026 in recognition of its outstanding exhibition and public engagement.

The award was presented during the official closing ceremony of the fair, where the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, served as the Guest of Honour

The award was received on behalf of REA by the agency’s Head of Public Relations and Communications, Martha Chassama.

REA expressed its appreciation to all stakeholders and visitors who toured its pavilion to learn about the achievements and implementation of rural energy projects. The agency also thanked the public for their continued support of its efforts to expand electricity access to rural communities and hamlets across Tanzania.

The 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) brought together thousands of exhibitors from Tanzania and abroad, reaffirming its status as the country’s premier trade and investment exhibition. Organized annually by the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade), the fair serves as a platform for institutions, businesses and investors to showcase products, services and innovations while promoting trade, industrial growth and investment opportunities. As part of the exhibition, outstanding exhibitors are recognized for excellence in areas such as innovation, presentation and public engagement.
