People with disability assured of maximum protection

PEOPLE with disability have been assured of full protection against all kinds of violence acts, including sexual harassment, abuse or denial of their basic rights.

The guarantee was given by Singida Acting Regional Administrative Secretary, Mr Patrick Kasango at the opening of a two-day meeting here aimed at getting opinions from women with disability on how to combat violence against women and children ahead of the national work plan meeting slated at a later date.

“The government will continue to further strengthen the protection of all people with disability, so that such evil acts remain a history in our community,” he said, adding, “A disabled person is just the same as any other person. I am asking you to join hands with the government in fighting the obstacles that the people with disability are facing.”
