MWANZA: THE National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has reaffirmed its commitment to introducing new products and simplified digital services to promote financial inclusion.
The remark was made recently made by NBC Director of Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), Mr James Meitaron when the bank’s team paid a visit to various costumers in Mwanza Region.
The visit to the companies and institutions in the region aimed at promoting cooperation and innovation for customers in the banking industry.
“NBC will continue to introduce new products and simplified digital services to promote financial inclusion.
“Visiting our big customers gives us an opportunity to explain the great improvements we have made to our services along with introducing new products that are more digitally simplified that are in line with customers’ needs,” he said.
According to the Bank of Tanzania (BoT), the landscape of financial inclusion in the country has recently witnessed a remarkable transformation in the financial sector, leveraging the rapid growth of the adoption of technologies in developing and distributing financial services and products.

Despite these developments, the adult population’s access to and usage of formal financial services remain unevenly distributed across the country.
To address this, the country embarked on a national collaborative approach between the public and private sector in advancing policies and innovative financial solutions, which expand outreach to unserved and underserved communities in the country.
Last month, NBC, through its team of Business and Investment Division (CIB) paid a visit to several sectors in Dodoma Region with similar purpose of promoting cooperation and innovation for customers in the banking industry.
The group also visited met the Ministry of Finance and Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA).
