Minerals Ministry instructs GST staff to perform their duties efficiently

DODOMA: THE Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Minerals, Engineer Yahya Samamba, has urged the management of the Geological Survey and Research Institute of Tanzania to create a conducive work environment that enables employees to perform their duties efficiently and safely.

The remarks were made during the launch of the GST Staff Council, held at the hall of the Tanzania Minerals Commission in Dodoma. Engineer Samamba emphasized that a good working environment is essential for enhancing productivity, innovation, and effectiveness in public service.

“It is the duty of every employee to carry out assigned tasks professionally and contribute fully to the success of the institution,” he said, stressing the importance of solidarity, unity, and cooperation at work to improve efficiency and elevate the status of public service.

He also congratulated the newly appointed leaders of the GST Staff Council, noting that the council has a key role in advising management on work performance, development plans, employee welfare, as well as reviewing financial planning and enhancing collaboration between staff and leadership.

Meanwhile, GST Director General, Engineer Ally Samaje, stated that the institute will continue improving its performance to contribute fully to the development of Tanzania’s mining sector. He added that GST is committed to enhancing its geoscience and laboratory services and adapting to technological advancements to deliver results that benefit the national economy.
