DAR ES SALAAM: DODOMA Jiji’s Head Coach, Mecky Maxime, is determined to fine-tune his team’s attacking line, which has struggled to convert numerous chances into goals this season.
Despite creating opportunities, the team has been unable to capitalise and Maxime is focused on addressing this challenge as a key part of his ongoing strategy in the ongoing Mainland Premier League.
Currently in 8th place with 27 points from 23 matches, Dodoma Jiji has scored 22 goals while conceding 23, which is an average of one goal per match.
This performance has left little room for error and Maxime knows that improvement is crucial for success. Speaking to the Daily News, Maxime pinpointed the key issue with the attacking unit, pointing on its inability to finish the chances it creates and to tackle this, he has implemented a strategy that stresses individual responsibility, urging each player to make the most of every opportunity, no matter the position of the striker.
“It’s unacceptable for us to be trailing in matches, especially considering the games we’ve played as our points are few and we are not in a favourable position compared to our rivals, my focus is on minimising mistakes in our attack,” Maxime disclosed.

Maxime took advantage of the league break to play two friendly matches, where he saw improvements in both defence and attack.
Dodoma Jiji drew 0-0 in the first match against Namungo, but triumphed 3-0 in the second.
“I’m pleased with the progress. Our attackers have begun to implement my instructions and the results have been encouraging,” Maxime said.
Looking ahead to their upcoming league fixture against JKT Tanzania on April 2(today), Maxime is fully aware of the challenge that lies ahead, emphasising that the match will be far from easy, particularly as they face a home team with a solid record on their own turf.
The pressure is mounting for Maxime and his squad as they aim to turn around their fortunes and climb higher up the league standings as the league battle goes down wire
