Maghembe jets in India for Foreign Ministers’ Raisina Dialogue

NEW DELHI: THE Tanzanian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dr Ngwaru Maghembe, has commenced an official visit to India, where he will participate in the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting at the Raisina Dialogue 2026.

The forum will take place in New Delhi from 5 to 7 March 2026, bringing together global leaders and policymakers to discuss issues related to diplomacy, international security, and global development.

During the visit, Dr Maghembe is representing the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo. In addition to participating in the international forum, he is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with India’s Minister of External Affairs, Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening diplomatic and economic cooperation between Tanzania and India.

While in India, Dr Maghembe will also meet Tanzania’s Honorary Consuls in the country and engage with members of the Tanzanian diaspora. These engagements are intended to discuss the diaspora’s contribution to national development and explore ways to further strengthen their relationship with the Tanzanian government.

Upon arrival in India, Dr Maghembe was received by Tanzanian High Commissioner to India, Anisa Mbega.

 At the Tanzanian Embassy offices in New Delhi, Ambassador Mbega, together with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation and the Embassy, briefed the Deputy Minister on the preparations for the visit during a meeting held ahead of the official programme of the forum.
