Leadership, gender equality herald African Women Leaders Network’s talks with Dr Samia  

DAR ES SALAAM: THE former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and former Ethiopian President, Sahle-Work Zewde have wrapped up their official visit to Tanzania following high-level talks with President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The two leaders visited the country as representatives of the African Women Leaders Network, led by Ms Sirleaf in her capacity as the network’s patron.

During their stay, they held discussions with President Samia at State House in Dar es Salaam, focusing on issues related to leadership, gender equality and regional cooperation.

They were seen off at the Julius Nyerere International Airport by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation (East African Affairs), James Millya, alongside Deputy Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Maryprisca Mahundi.

The visit underscores Tanzania’s continued engagement with continental initiatives aimed at advancing women’s leadership and strengthening cooperation across Africa
