KMT envoy marks Chinese Little New Year in Dar with charity donation

DAR ES SALAAM: On the occasion of the Chinese Lunar “Little New Year,” Cai Yuanyuan, a member of the Eighth Branch of the Shijingshan District Working Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK) in Beijing, traveled to Tanzania and organized an overseas service event themed “Cultural Unity · Volunteering Together” at Yombo Vituka Public Secondary School in Dar es Salaam. The event aimed to deepen China–Africa cultural exchange and promote people-to-people friendship.

During the event, Ms Cai Yuanyuan held a productive meeting with the school’s principal, Ms. Salma Kaloka, during which both sides exchanged views on potential opportunities for future cooperation in the field of China–Africa educational collaboration. Following the meeting, Ms. Cai delivered a lively Chinese culture class to first-year students at the school. The class was engaging and sparked strong interest among the students. The classroom atmosphere was vibrant, with frequent interaction and enthusiastic questions from students. After the class, several students expressed their aspiration to study in China, demonstrating a strong interest in Chinese culture.

In addition to cultural exchange, the event also included a charitable donation. On her own behalf, Ms Cai Yuanyuan donated a batch of learning supplies to the school, supporting the educational development of Tanzanian youth and contributing to the longstanding friendship between the peoples of China and Tanzania.

Serving as a bridge for cultural exchange and a bond for public welfare, the event not only deepened Tanzanian teachers’ and students’ understanding of Chinese culture, but also demonstrated the sense of responsibility and commitment of members of China’s democratic parties in participating in international public welfare initiatives and promoting China–Africa friendship, highlighting the unique value of people-to-people diplomacy.
