DODOMA: THE feasibility study for the construction of a modern railway from Kaliua-Mpanda to the Port of Karema has been completed.
Deputy Minister of Transport, David Kihenzile, stated this yesterday in Parliament when responding to a primary question from Special Seats MP Taska Mbogo (CCM).
He said the government, through the Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC), is continuing with the preparations for the construction of this modern railway from Kaliua-Mpanda to the Port of Karema.
“Additionally, the government is continuing to seek financial resources for the construction of the 321-kilometer Kaliua-Mpanda-Karema railway, which will be built to Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) level,” he said.
