INEC calls voters to embrace the digital system in verifying their registration
DODOMA: THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on Tanzanians across the country to utilize simple technological methods to verify their information in the Permanent Voters’ Register as part of preparations for the upcoming general election.
Speaking to reporters today, April 14, 2025, in Dodoma, the Commission’s Chairperson, Jacobs Mwambegele, said voters can now verify their details using their mobile phones or by visiting the Commission’s official website.
He explained that this service is aimed at ensuring that every eligible Tanzanian voter has the opportunity to confirm their information on time, thereby avoiding potential issues during the election period.

In addition, the Chairperson reminded political party leaders and all electoral stakeholders to adhere to the laws, procedures, and regulations governing the electoral process and the updating of the voters’ register.
Mwambegele noted that the Commission is continuing with preparations for the second phase of updating the Permanent Voters’ Register and urged citizens to fully participate through the official channels provided to ensure their information is accurate and properly recorded.
This initiative is part of the Commission’s broader efforts to ensure that the election is free, fair, and conducted in accordance with democratic principles.
