Godlove turns CCM setback onto fresh Kyela commitment

KYELA: FORMER parliamentary aspirant for Kyela Constituency, Godlove Mwakibete, popularly known as Chief Godlove, has thanked residents for their support during the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) nomination process, pledging to remain active in efforts to advance development in the constituency.

Chief Godlove made the remarks during a meeting with residents at Kyelucu Grounds in Ipinda, Kyela District, where he returned to thank supporters following his exclusion from the final stage of the party’s nomination process.

He said the outcome would not deter him from working with residents, friends and other stakeholders to identify opportunities that could improve the lives of people in Kyela.

“My name being left out of the final list will not stop me from thinking about the development of the people of Kyela. I will continue working with friends, stakeholders and residents to identify opportunities that can help bring progress to our constituency,” he said.

Chief Godlove said his vision for Kyela remained focused on key areas including healthcare, education and youth empowerment, stressing that meaningful development required collective effort beyond political positions.

He identified improved access to quality healthcare and wider access to health insurance among the issues he intends to continue supporting.

He pledged to back initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and living standards of residents, saying his commitment to Kyela was not tied to holding political office.

Chief Godlove also urged CCM members to remain united as the country heads towards the General Election and pledged to support candidates endorsed by the party at different levels.

“I believe the leaders who have been endorsed were chosen with the interests of both the party and the people in mind. It is now our responsibility to support them and ensure CCM secures a resounding victory,” he said.

Some residents who attended the meeting praised Chief Godlove for accepting the nomination outcome peacefully and for maintaining his commitment to community development.

They said his involvement in social and community initiatives had earned him the trust of many residents and expressed hope that he would continue contributing to Kyela’s development regardless of his political status.

His return to Kyela to thank residents was welcomed by supporters, with some describing the gesture as a sign of political maturity and continued commitment to the community beyond the nomination process.
