GH Tanzania seeks community’s support in tackling crime, drug abuse

MWANZA: THE representative of GH Tanzania, Mr Mabuba Malima, has urged citizens to continue to cooperate in tackling crime, drug use, gender violence, conflicts and other challenges that can threaten peace and security in the community.
Mr Malima said this today,August 22, 2026, at Mitindo Special Need Primary School grounds in Mwanza during the 15th national anniversary celebrations for GH Tanzania inspectors and police officers.
Mr Malima said cooperation between citizens and various institutions is important in building a safe, united, cohesive and development-friendly society.
He said that through the good relations that exist between GH Tanzania and the community, they have been encouraging citizens to recognize that they have a great role in finding and being part of the solution to the challenges facing society.
“We encourage citizens to be part of the solution in tackling crime, drug use, gender violence, conflicts and other challenges that can threaten peace and security in the community,” Mr Malima said.
He added that the move is part of GH Tanzania’s mission to see society living in peace, unity and solidarity while citizens use existing opportunities to bring about development.
Mr Malima said the institution has also been standing with its members in various social activities, including collaborating during celebrations, sick and disasters.
He said that through this solidarity, they have been ensuring that the children of members who have come before the law receive educational support using donations made by members.
Speaking about social activities, Malima said that every August 15th of each year, members decide to use the day to carry out activities that are beneficial to the community instead of focusing on celebrating alone.

He also said that more than 11m/- have been donated to the Mitindo Primary School in Misungwi district in Mwanza.
He said the funds were used to purchase 53 desks, 100 mattresses, 200 sheets, 200 kilograms of rice, 60 litres of cooking oil and one tin of beans, as well as other essential needs for children studying at the school.
He said the support is part of the implementation of their mission to ensure children have a better learning and living environment while at school.
