Finance Ministry’s officials urged to uphold integrity, ethical conduct

DODOMA: FINANCE Minister Khamis Mussa Omar has urged staff of the Ministry of Finance to uphold integrity in their daily work, stressing that ethical conduct is a divine obligation and not limited to the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking in Dodoma during a special Iftar dinner organised by the Government Chief Accountant’s Department for ministry staff, the minister said integrity and strong work ethics are the foundation of accountability and public trust in government institutions.

According to the minister, civil servants in the finance ministry carry a critical responsibility in managing public resources and must therefore serve as role models of honesty and professionalism.

He said maintaining high ethical standards throughout the year would strengthen citizens’ confidence in the government and its institutions.

Additionally, he noted that genuine cooperation among staff is essential in driving the country’s development agenda, noting that every employee has a role to play in helping the ministry and the government achieve their goals.

“I urge all staff of the Ministry to be examples of integrity and teamwork, because strong work ethics form the foundation for sustainable development and national prosperity,” he said.

The Iftar event was organised by the Government Chief Accountant’s Department under the leadership of  Leonard Mkude.
