Dr Samia banks on skilled, disciplined and educated youth to develop Tanzania

MOSCOW: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has urged African nations to prepare young people with the knowledge, skills and capacity toward the knowledge-based economy.
She said nations should ensure their people possess not only academic qualifications but also knowledge, discipline, patriotism, integrity, curiosity and the ability to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

The Head of State made the call in Moscow after receiving an Honorary Doctorate from RUDN University in recognition of her contribution to education development, international cooperation and the strengthening of relations among nations.
Speaking at the colourful event, Dr Samia said the award reflects the critical role of education in driving social and economic development and highlights the long-standing partnership between Tanzania and Russia, which has produced many professionals who have contributed significantly to the growth of both countries.
