Dr Nchimbi tells Media to condemn harmful politics

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Secretary General of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, has stated that the media should condemn any statements made by politicians from both the ruling party and the opposition that could incite violence, disrupt national unity, or cause harm to citizens, including fatalities.

He made these remarks today in Ruvuma during a meeting of the Tanzania Editors Forum (TEF). Dr. Nchimbi emphasized that it is the responsibility of the media in the country to be vigilant in safeguarding the peace and stability of the nation.

He stressed that this issue should be of the utmost importance and that the media must take it seriously to ensure the continued peace of Tanzania.

Dr. Nchimbi further urged journalists to avoid publishing anything that could fuel divisions or harm national harmony. He advised editors to refrain from writing content that could stir unrest or damage the peaceful coexistence of the country.
